COVID-19 virus

The country is currently on an emergency footing in order to fight the COVID-19 virus. This is an extremely serious situation that is having an impact on most of us. The Friends of QMC is no exception to this.

As a charity, we have a responsibility for the health and wellbeing of all those that generously volunteer their time to raise funds so that we can undertake the reason for our being; to help the patients carers and staff of Nottingham’s QMC hospital.

We are currently reviewing our operations to ensure we can continue to operate as normally as we can.

As of 22nd March 2020 our operation is as follows –

  • We have reluctantly closed both our Keyworth and Derby Road Shops
  • Our Art gallery on D Floor, West block is still open – the current artist will continue to display until 1st April
  • The craft and other stalls within the gallery are now cancelled.

We are still accepting bids from the hospital for our support, however, at this time we have a temporary halt on making decisions on these (other than exceptional requests). This will be the case until we fully understand the impact of this emergency on our income streams.

Given the government advice regarding social distancing and reducing social contact we would like to remind you all that should you wish to donate to us, you can do so online via PayPal, Just Giving, Facebook and by text. See the details on how to do this here.

Any support you can provide us at this difficult time will be very much appreciated and will enable us to continue our work.

We will update this notice if and when the situation changes.

We thank you for your understanding and tremendous support.

Thank you and stay safe.
